WHAT DO YOU GET?
- The Percher initiatives give YOU the member the opportunity to try out what is on offer at the participating establishments ON THE HOUSE (A spend limit will apply)
- The Percher initiative gives YOU, the member, the opportunity to give us your constructive feedback on your experience.
- Does that mean you have to give a glowing review? – No, not unless you believe that your experience warranted it.
- Honest and constructive feedback is encouraged, even if it’s painful for the establishment to read.
WHAT DOES THE ESTABLISHMENT GET?
- Exposure – This initiative allows customers the opportunity to try establishments they may not previously have considered, and it gets people talking.
- Feedback – very often venues are not aware of what they may be doing wrong (or right). This is an opportunity to hear this firsthand from their customers.
- By allowing several diners two opportunities each to try an establishment, gives a consumer sample size large enough to provide a fair assessment of what is on offer.
IS THIS ADVERTISING?
Essentially, yes.
Anything that gives an establishment significant exposure, (in this instance to 83,000+ people), is of course a form of advertising.
There is of course still a cost associated with this – What you eat or drink for free does cost the venue.
WHAT IS GBN’s ROLE AND DO WE GET PAID TO DO THIS?
Our role in this is:
- To find venues to participate
- To create the means for members to apply to participate in the initiatives (Posting notifications, creating response forms on our web site)
- Liaising with successful applicants re times and dates and providing this information to management of the participating venues.
- Ensuring that subsequent posts made comply with our rules – We have no vested interest in whether a post is positive or negative – We do however insist that posts and comments are inline with the rules of our group, as we do with all posts.
Do we get paid:
Yes – We charge the establishment a “management fee” for a project. There is significant “behind the scenes” preparation and ongoing management during these projects, with a single project often requiring as much as two weeks full time preparation and management.
CAN ANY ESTABLISHMENT APPLY TO PARTICIPATE?
YES! We encourage participation.
Historically venues who have participated have shown increased patronage post the project. It also gives our members the opportunity to try out venues they may not have had the opportunity to.
HOW DO YOU APPLY TO PARTICIPATE?
- If you are a venue wishing to participate, simply reach out to us via our contact page on our site, www.gbny.co.za for details.
- If you wish to be a Percher, keep an eye out on our Facebook Group, KZN Restaurants – GBN, where we post details of current projects and how to participate!
We will give details on how to respond and any T&C’s applicable when we post.
